The Anne Frank Tree Project is dedicated to acknowledging students and community members who voluntarily dedicate their time and talents in the spirit of understanding, equity, and social justice. To that end we host the annual “Make a Difference Awards”. We honor one student and one community member (or group).

The Southern Cayuga FFA Chapter has begun working with Growing Hope Globally, an organization committed to linking the grassroots energy and commitment of rural communities in the U.S. with the capability and desire of smallholder farmers in developing countries to grow lasting solutions to hunger. This collaboration aims to empower youth to contribute significantly to global and local food security, human health, and global prosperity by engaging in food, agriculture, and nutritional sciences.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Curtis Veiock, a resident of East Palestine, Ohio, holds the role of Regional Director for Growing Hope Globally, overseeing operations in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and along the East Coast while supporting the establishment of new initiatives.
With a background primarily rooted in livestock management, Curtis brings expertise in dairy and beef cattle nutrition, as well as extensive experience in herd and farm management. His proficiency extends to controlled environment agriculture, where he has cultivated specialty crops year-round within greenhouse environments. Curtis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture, specializing in Agricultural Systems Management from The Ohio State University, and maintains active involvement within his local community.
While Curtis found fulfillment in his recent endeavors in controlled environment agriculture, his passion for conventional agriculture and community engagement led him to pursue a role with Growing Hope Globally. He values merging his agricultural expertise with his commitment to community service, working alongside community organizations to combat global hunger.
